Mobile Check Deposit Best Practices

These best practices will help make the mobile check process seamless and easy! Using a blue or black ballpoint pen is recommended. Some felt tip pens can bleed through the check and impact the ability to read the check.

Before depositing a check, review the following and make sure:

  • The check must be from a US based bank - international checks are not supported.
  • The check is made out to the organization.
  • The check date is no later than 6 months after the current date.
  • The written and numeric amounts for the check match.
  • The check is signed on the front of the check.
  • The back is endorsed on the endorsement line with For Deposit Only.
  • To check mark the box on the back of the check if it says Check Here If Mobile Deposit.

When capturing a check image, make sure:

  • The check is against a dark background.
  • There is ample lighting and no glare on the image.
  • The check is aligned in the camera view finder.
  • The camera is not too far away from the check image.

After submitting a check:

  • Please allow 24-48 hours for processing time for the check to appear in the mobile app under My Donations.
  • Write VOID across the check and keep for 14 days (or until you confirm the check has appeared in the mobile app).
  • The check does not need to be mailed to the event coordinator.
